I don’t know how the weather has been in your part of the world but it has been HOT here. I love Hawaii so much but there are a few things that I just can’t deal with and the heat happens to be at the top of the list. For those of you that don’t know, I grew up in the frozen tundra known as North Dakota. So to say that I’ve gone through a major climate shock is putting it mildly. I haven’t lived there for over 15 years but I don’t think I will ever adjust to intense heat. I think I tell everyone I know this but we don’t have AC in our house so that makes it even more unbearable lately. Why no air you might ask, this day and age? Salt air is why. Ugh. Which brings me to another one of the downfalls. I was just looking at my sons backpack that he’s only had for a little over a year and all of the belts and buckles are rusty. Crazy!!
But honestly, all it takes to get over all of those little irritations, is a day by the water like this one here. Oahu is such a gorgeous place to live and visit. The landscape changes so dramatically in just a few short miles, it’s breathtaking, amazing and probably one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever seen. Of all the Hawaiian Islands, it is still my favorite. It’s busy, very, very busy but the views more than make up for it.
Which brings me to this weeks outfit choice. Old Navy is one of my favorite go-to stores, it’s such a great place to shop for super inexpensive clothing, ranging from ultra casual to a little on the dressy side. On my latest shopping trip, I found this super comfortable mixed print crepe shift dress . The flowing and breezy fit made it perfect for a day by the ocean. Here is what I wore….
- Old Navy Shift Dress
- Mossimo Ankleboots
- Express Clutch
- Stella and Dot Tigris earrings

thanks so much my friend:) xo
I am heading home next week and I am so not ready for the heat! It’s funny how quickly adjust to our current living conditions. Whenever i go home, I feel the humid air as soon we step off the plane. But I am so looking forward to some R &R and hoping to spend time at Auilani.

I know exactly what you mean Alice…as SOON as you get off the plane that heat hits you. It’s gotten a little cooler lately. Have a GREAT time! I wish we could meet up for lunch but I know how crazy vacations can be, especially when your visiting family too. Have a wonderful trip:)
Amazing dress! I like how you’ve paired it with booties.
I’ve been to Oahu twice (the only of the Hawaiian islands I’ve visited) and I love it! The scenery is unreal, as your backdrop proves.
