I hope you all had a Happy Halloween! My kids had a busy Fall Festival at their school, filled with games, food and parades….this mom was exhausted before we even went trick-or treating. For Halloween, we took our kids to a neighborhood that was filled with cool haunted houses, cotton candy stands and tons of adults that dress up in elaborately cool outfits. All of these festivities came with a little irritation which was our own fault. We didn’t pay attention to where we parked in this massive development (not massive at all…really no excuse) of dead ends and cul d’ sacs (or maybe it was on the main drag of this neighborhood). Good thing we started early because it took us LONGER than I care to admit to find our car. I guess the excitement got to us as well. We’ll know better next year.
Fashionably speaking, I live vicariously through all of you stylish ladies living in cooler parts of the world. Being a mid-western girl, I dream of wearing that amazing cowl neck sweater, fabulous jeans and fantastic pair of ankle boots while sipping a cup of hot chocolate. It’s just not going to be my reality for awhile, however, every now and then it gets cool enough on the island to wear long sleeves. Not as often as I would like but we are heading into our winter season that brings cooler tradewinds and a lot of rain. This day was an awesome treat since it allowed me to layer up a little. Of course by the time we got home I was literally peeling off the layers.
A few months back I purchased a few pieces from Forever 21. I see all of the amazing finds at this store from all of you fabulous ladies so I thought it was time I check it out. Wow, I thought Old Navy was inexpensive!! I paid about $13 for the top and $22 for the jacket, when it comes to bang for your buck in Hawaii…that is a steal!! I love vests and long sleeved t’s but considering it’s not something that will get a lot of use this was exactly the price tag I was looking for.
Here is what I wore….
- Jeans-Rockstar Old Navy
- Stripe long sleeve t-shirt- Forever 21 Similar
- Vest- Forever 21
- Shoes- Payless find Janine Pointy Toe
- Necklace- Stella and Dot Sutton
- Bracelet- J. Crew
Photography by XJCreations. Special thanks to my talented husband who has an amazing eye for unique locations each week. I mean it is Hawaii so, it’s not like it’s hard to find a beautiful location but he always searches for what is going to fit the Fashion Informant outfit each week and I’m so grateful to him.
Time to announce this weeks Fashion Informant! The oh, SO, Fashionable Britt of Try it On Me. I’ve idolized her blog since before I became a fashion blogger myself. I was so happy to see her pop up on the Fashion Informant linkup over the last couple of weeks because she has got some awesome style to share! Her last post spoke to me because I too, own a plethora of shoes and yet utilize a handful of them! This goes for more than shoes in my case. Not to mention, her outfit was so chic and classy yet so casual and simplistic. I think we can all relate to the fact that we have SO many clothes and yet there is that one simple, flawless ensemble that we put together and prefer to all of those gorgeous outfits that are collecting dust in our closets. Thank you so much Brittany for showing us your style on the Fashion Informant.

This is a great outfit combo! Love the stripes and necklaces!
Thanks Lisa!!
Each week I come to see your outfits and get so home sick of all the beautiful background. Looking great as always! I am featuring a cargo vest that I had purchased from F21 last year for about the same price too. I don’t buy much from there since I have a hard time finding things that fit me properly. Have a great weekend!

There is definitely no place like Oahu! It’s cold and rainy right now which is a nice change after the heat. I agree, I had a hard time finding things that fit really well there too. But I do love the prices. I loved your vest and the fact that it was a little more straight lined. Mine sort of balloons at the bottom.

Sherry the jeans are the perfect fit and length… plus you can’t beat a great pair of nude heels! Such a great ‘dressed up casual’ look!
